Oct 19 Wine & Cheese Reception Unveils Fire History: Chiefs, Vehicles, Art & Artifacts

An Open House Wine and Cheese Reception

Introducing the Collections of the LHS Fire History Committee

Including Larchmont’s 1922 Pumper, Engine One, 1910 Brush Roadster Chief’s Car, antique artwork, videos, photographs and other memorabilia.

WHEN: Sunday, October 19th, 4:00 to 7:00 pm

WHERE: 725 River Street, Mamaroneck, NY

Beginning at 4:00 pm, there will be a panel presentation by six former Larchmont Fire Department  Chiefs in the 3-bay garage that is part of the Fire History Committee’s headquarters. Each chief will  briefly describing his most serious incident or other outstanding events during his leadership.

Meet the Rigs and Memorabilia: At 4:45 pm, the Committee will open the back door of the garage to the new Fire History Archive, which includes Engine One and the Chief’s car as well as other significant fire memorabilia and antique equipment.

Meet the Art: At 5:00 pm, there will be an unveiling by the son of the original artist – Mary Hargrave – of the Fire Company Mural, which was restored by the Fire History Committee after it was removed for Village Hall renovations. Mary Hargrave’s portraits are in private collections, and have been shown throughout the Northeast U.S. for more than 40 years.
